About us

Emerald Financial Pty Ltd (ABN 23 694 352 157) holds Australian Credit Licence 000 000 and is authorised to provide credit assistance under the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009. This guide explains who we are, how we are paid, and what to do if something goes wrong.

The services we provide

We provide credit assistance: we assess your objectives, financial situation and needs, compare credit products from our panel of lenders, and help you apply for a loan that is not unsuitable for you. We act in your best interests when providing credit assistance in relation to credit contracts secured by residential property, as required by the Best Interests Duty.

Our lender panel

We source loans from a panel of more than 40 banks, mutuals and specialist lenders. While our panel is broad, it does not include every lender in the market. The six lenders with whom we conduct the most business will be disclosed in your credit proposal.

How we are paid

Our credit assistance is free to you. Lenders pay us an upfront commission (typically a percentage of the loan amount) and may pay a trail commission over the life of the loan. Commission rates and a reasonable estimate of the amounts will be disclosed in your credit proposal before you proceed. Our brokers may receive a share of these commissions. We do not charge you a fee unless separately agreed in writing.

What we need from you

To meet responsible lending obligations we will ask about your financial situation and verify it with supporting documents. It is important the information you give us is accurate and complete.

Complaints

If you have a complaint, contact our complaints officer at hello@emeraldfinancial.com.au or 1300 040 638. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) - a free, independent external dispute resolution scheme - at afca.org.au or 1800 931 678.
